United States Capitol Police

Back in 1800, the legislative body of the US, namely the Congress, was moved from Philadelphia to Washington DC and a lone man by the name of John Golding was hired to be the watchman. However, several incidents in 1827 took place that compromised the security of the facility and could have been avoided with the presence of efficient surveillance and manpower. This led to President John Quincy Adams’ decision to establish a permanent Police Force. On May 2, 1828, an act was passed to formalize the decision, and the United States Capitol Police was founded.

Today, the United States Capitol Police (USCP), with over 2000 officers, is responsible for the protection of the legislative process, a symbol of democracy, the people who carry out the process, and several thousand visitors who travel to witness it. If you’re one of them or have friends or family in the force, Police Brand Memorabilia and Collectibles’ Customisable Wooden Thin Blue Line Flag with their name or badge number, a Police Bulldog Sticker/Decal for their car, or just the Honorbound Protect and Serve Police Coin for them to add to their collection or start one if they like challenge coins.

The USCP stands for the best in American policing and serves as a poster child for security, urban protection services, homeland security, and special response capabilities. It is imperative that they operate with utmost care since their home ground is nothing short of a world stage in an open environment. As ambassadors of the Congress, they’re often the first line of encounter for those coming from outside and are tasked with leaving a lasting impression. All of these factored in, it only makes sense to support these servicemen in their endeavor, and the Peace Love Black and Blue Shirt and Blessed are the Peacemakers - Wooden Sign can help members of the community do just that and let their officers know that they’re doing a good job and that the community is proud.

The USCP, as a fully accredited national law enforcement agency, is heterogeneous as it represents many races, colors, religions, political affiliations, sexual orientations, ages, and ethnicities. It truly stands for peace, unity, and brotherhood in terms of inclusivity. Tasked with safeguarding the congressional property, its members, and its visitors from grounds of crime, disturbance, and terrorism so the wheels of the American democracy never stop turning, the officers of USCP work untiringly. It has several bureaus and offices that report to Executive Team members for the delegation of work and effective administration. There is a Capitol Police Board in place, responsible for overseeing all activities of the United States Capitol Police.

Please note that in no way is Police Brand Memorabilia and Collectibles affiliated to any law enforcement agency or governmental organization.
